Your Data Rights (UK GDPR)

Last updated: 11 August 2026

This page sets out, in plain terms, what you can ask us to do with your personal information and how to do it. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect and why.

Who is responsible for your data

The business trading as FarmTradeDirect is the data controller. Our registered company details and postal address are available on request by emailing contact@farmtradedirect.com.

What you can ask for

A copy of your data (subject access request). We will send you everything we hold about you.

Correction. If something we hold is wrong or out of date, tell us and we will fix it.

Deletion. We will delete what we hold unless we have a legal reason to keep it — for example, we must keep order and payment records for six years for tax purposes. We will tell you if that applies and what we are keeping.

Restriction or objection. You can ask us to stop using your data in a particular way while a concern is sorted out.

Portability. We will provide your data in a common machine-readable format so you can take it elsewhere.

Withdrawing marketing consent. Use the unsubscribe link in any email, or just tell us. It takes effect immediately, and it does not affect anything else about your account.

How to make a request

Email contact@farmtradedirect.com with what you would like. Please say clearly which of the above you are asking for, so we get it right first time.

We may ask you to confirm who you are before we release personal data — that is to protect you, not to delay you.

How long we take

Within one month. If a request is unusually large or complicated we may need up to two further months, and we will tell you within the first month if that is the case. There is no charge.

Automated decisions

We do not make automated decisions about you that have a legal or similarly significant effect, and we do not profile you for advertising.

If you are not happy

Please come to us first — most things are a misunderstanding we can put right quickly. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at any time: ico.org.uk, or 0303 123 1113.

Reporting a data breach

If you think your data has been exposed, email contact@farmtradedirect.com and tell us what you have seen. We take it seriously, we will investigate, and where the law requires it we will report it to the ICO within 72 hours and tell those affected.

This page is a plain-English summary of how we operate. It is not legal advice. If anything here is unclear, please ask us.
