1. About these terms

These terms apply when you use farmtradedirect.com or buy from us. By placing an order or creating an account you accept them. Please read them and keep a copy.

2. Prices and VAT

Membership prices on our pricing page are shown excluding VAT. VAT at the standard UK rate of 20% is added at checkout and appears as a separate line on your invoice.

We may change our prices. A change never affects a subscription you have already paid for — it applies from your next renewal, and we will tell you before it takes effect.

3. Membership and subscriptions

• Membership is offered on a monthly or annual basis. The plan you choose, its price and what it includes are shown before you pay.
• A month or a year is paid for in full. It is not refundable, and it cannot be cancelled part-way through.
• You can switch auto-renewal off at any time in your dashboard. You keep everything you have paid for until the end of that period, after which your account returns to the free plan automatically.
• If we run a free trial, its length is shown on the button before you pay. If you do not switch auto-renewal off before the trial ends, your first payment is taken.
• If a payment fails we may retry it. If it keeps failing your account returns to the free plan.

4. Contact reveals

Paid plans include an allowance of contact reveals — the number is shown on your plan. Revealing the same listing twice does not use a second reveal. The allowance runs over a rolling twelve months from each reveal. Unused reveals have no cash value and are not refundable.

Contact details obtained through a reveal are for contacting that person about that listing. You must not add them to a marketing list, sell them on, or use them for anything else. Doing so is a breach of these terms and of data protection law, and we may close your account.

5. Listings and wanted ads

• You are responsible for what you post. It must be accurate, must be yours to sell, and must comply with the law.
• Every listing and wanted ad is reviewed by us before it appears. We aim to decide within 48 hours. We may decline anything, and we do not have to give a reason.
• We may remove a listing at any time, for example if it is inaccurate, misleading, already sold, or the subject of a complaint.
• If you keep livestock you are responsible for your own legal obligations, including holding a County Parish Holding (CPH) number and keeping movement records. We do not do this for you.

6. We are not a party to your sale

FarmTradeDirect is an introduction service. When you agree a deal with another member, that contract is between the two of you. We are not the seller, the buyer, or an agent for either. We do not handle the money for a livestock or machinery sale, we do not inspect stock, and we give no warranty about it.

That means checking the animal, the machine, the paperwork, the haulage and the payment is your responsibility. We strongly recommend you view before you buy and use a traceable payment method.

7. Verification badges

A Verified badge means we have checked that member's identity and business details to a reasonable standard. It is not a guarantee of their honesty, their solvency, or the quality of what they are selling, and it is not a substitute for your own checks.

8. Acceptable use

Do not post anything false, offensive or unlawful; do not scrape or bulk-collect data from the site; do not attempt to get round the contact reveal allowance; do not impersonate anyone. We may suspend or close an account that breaches this.

9. Our liability

We provide the site with reasonable care and skill, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error free. We are not liable for losses arising from a deal you do with another member, or for business losses such as lost profit or lost opportunity. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

10. Ending your account

You can close your account at any time by emailing us. Closing it does not refund a subscription period already paid for. We may close or suspend an account that breaches these terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you we will tell you. The date at the top shows when they last changed.
